Cool brezzes and Smooth Jazz

This is the way the 32th annual 2011 Clearwater Jazz Holiday started tonight. This was the first day of four days and nights of one of... if not the best (Free) outdoor jazz festival ever. Did I mention it's free. What began on the back of flatbed truck 32 years ago has turned into a must see event. I still can't believe it is FREE!!

The band Global Affect set the tone for tonight's festivities.  Then came Kevin....

Anybody who came to see " Jay Leno" was sadly disappointed. Kevin made you feel right a home with his sweet acoustic guitar.

Here comes Trombone Shorty

Tonight belonged to a young man bring the FUNK out of New Orleans Louisiana.

Troy Andrews (born January 2, 1986), also known by the stage nameTrombone Shorty is a trombone and trumpet player from New Orleans, Louisiana United States. He has worked in jazz, funk and rap music. Andrews is the younger brother of trumpeter and bandleader James Andrews as well as the grandson of singer and songwriter Jessie Hill. Andrews began playing trombone at age six, and since 2009 has played in the band Orleans Avenue.(from Wikipedia)

Today was just the kind of day I needed. Just me and my camera, surrounded by
family, friends and smooth jazz all wrapped up in a cool breeze.

All images were shot with the Canon 1D mark II (70-200mm 2.8 IS Lens) and the Canon 40D (24-70mm 2.8) between ISO 800-1600 1/60-1/80 between F2.8 - F4.5. Lightroom 3 and Nik Software in post.
I love shooting concerts because you never what your going to get from one moment to the next. I love the the light and the ever changing colors effects. It always makes me smile and remember why I love photography so much.
